Fergus joined the Sea Scouts which met somewhere and the canoe used to be left here in between times because we could have it in the back garden so at that time in 1973 when Sandy Lane flooded he was photographed taking his canoe up the road.

What happened with the flooding?  I don’t remember … heavy rains I suppose the drains just didn’t … stopped working but I have got the newspaper photograph of that … with the boat on it (laughter) but they used to belong to Woodcraft Folk, sort of Scouts you see.  They would belong to that.
