My first job at 10 was working for builders, other Hammites in Watneys Brewery. Started at 7 in the morning on a Saturday, just making the tea or sweeping the floor, just to get into the swing of it and then during the school holidays. I’d take about two to three weeks out of the six weeks and do a proper day’s labour for money, which was a good thing because that’s what I fell into after trying various things…like you know my first job was after school, I’d be working at Hawker Siddeley, OCS,Official Cleaning Services for a few hours to get money. When I was about 17,  I was in Kingston Market in one of  the clothes shops, Focus, it was called at the time and Dales Menswear and low pay.
