We used to have Guy Fawkes Night – We used to have a bonfire – a great big pile of things would be made quite near the pond in case it got out of hand. You could take along anything wooden or anything that would burn to add to the pile for 2 or 3 weeks beforehand. That used to be really good fun – the children loved that – until one year someone set fire to it early and we never had another one.
